What I’m All About
I was an oncology and hospice nurse for about five years when my daughter was diagnosed with autism. My husband and I decided it would be best for Raelyn if I quit my job as a nurse and stay home full time with her. So I traded in my scrubs for a laptop and started sharing our journey with the world.
January 17, 2017 will make one year since Raelyn was diagnosed. My readers who have been with me since day 1 understand everything my family has gone through and how much progress Raelyn has made. All of you have been there through the diagnosis process, the moment I truly grasped what this new life meant for us, the celebrations of her victories, and the raw emotions I have felt along the way.
Why I Blog
Blogging started as a therapeutic outlet for me, because it was a hell of a lot cheaper than therapy. The more posts I shared, the more parents started reaching out to me. I had become a source for information but more importantly, a person who understood what they were going through.
I started blogging for a mommy website, but recently decided to branch out on my own. Eventually I will upload all of my posts from that website onto this one. But don’t worry, you don’t need the other posts in order for the rest of them to make sense.
Thanks so much for joining me on this crazy adventure!! I look forward to sharing our journey with all of you… the good, the bad, the funny, the scary, and the sad.
